I bought a lightning lead (3m) and when I plug it in to my usb on my charger it doesnt charge. Why is this?

I suppose the obvious question then is why are they available to buy if they do not work?

The standard lead you get with the ipad is too short in my opinion. My girlfirend has the wider lead as she has an ipad 2 and her 3 metre lead works ok.

Should I try a 2 metre lead then or maybe no 3 metre lead will never work with my ipad?

I have read on amazon that the 3 metre lead are not working and yet they continue to be sold. :/

3rd party from ebay, less than £3.

But regardless of the price I expect it to work.

Yes they sent me a secnd one but they failed also, hence why I'm wondering if this is a common problem.

What do people use? Maybe they put up with the short original lead?

where do I find that. It arrived in an unmarked clear bag and there is no marking on the lead.

Seems I'm back to square one looking for something that is longer than the original that may or may not work.
