And because you can use your iPhone on the airport network I thought maybe someone would be intelligent enough to answer the question . In laymen terms I have a Adsl wireless router with 4 Ethernet ports on the back , all I want to know is does the airport express need to be connected via a lead to the Adsl router at all times !

Jun 26, 2013 9:57 AM in response to marky8oyby deggie,★HelpfulNo, detach the AEX from the router, plug it in where you want it, connect the Airplay device you want to use with it and set it up with your Airport Utility or in Settings on the iPhone.
This is assuming your adsl modem is also a wireless router.
