I created and saved a custom, text only, stationery (i.e. no images, etc.). I can see it when I click Custom in the stationery list. But double clicking on the stationery does nothing. I've deleted and retried several times, to no avail. Help!

Apple HELLO ???? I email the same email on my products all the time, I want to use stationary!
This is a bug that as far as I can tell is still present in 10.8.5 and has been around for awhile.

Just to inform you:
I can confirm this bug is still present in 10.9.2 with Mail 7.2.
However, the work-around as described still works to get the custom stationary selected.
I am having the same issue with my custom stationery not loading (10.9.3 with Mail 7.3). I can see the thumbnail, but it will not load (this is after setting signature to 'none')

Stationary is really important i do not get why apple is not on this.
Thanks for the "fix." Too bad this is goofed up still in Mail 10.10.3. I'm sending feedback to Apple now.
