Files corrupted when copying to external HDD

Hi!

I noticed that copying files to my external HDD corrupts a lot of files. The files are OK when are stored on My MacBook Pro's internal HDD, but copying them to an external HDD corrupts them. Only the external HDD files are corrupted, the internal HDD files remain intact. It's not my external HDD's issue, because copying the files from my BootCamp partition works. I also tried copying files in different file systems (my HDD is formatted in NTFS and I'm using Paragon's latest driver) and different drives (a pen-drive formated in FAT32, another smaller HDD...) and the same issue happens. I check my files with .md5 checksums.Strangely, this issue only happens with .dmg and .zip files (I noticed because they can't be opened) What can I do? Thanks!!

I think its Paragon fault, I uninstalled it and then install NTFS Free (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ntfsfree/) and everything work normal, no more .dmg corrupt when copying to ntfs partition. then I uninstalled ntfs free, install paragon and .dmg corrupt again when copying to ntfs partition, I had no issue with .zip, only .dmg files andnever test it in FAT3.

soo I'm prety sure it's paragon fault, I think 😝

- Internal HDD: 2 Partitions

a) OS X 10.8.4: HFS+ (with Paragon NTFS installed)

b) BootCamp (Windows 8): NTFS

- External HDD: 1 Partition

a) Data partition: NTFS

- Pen-Drive: 1 Partition

a) Data partition: FAT32

----> MEANS COPY ACTION

md5 checksums DON'T MATCH when:

a) OS X 10.8.4 (HFS+) ----> External HDD (NTFS)

Copying with OS X 10.8.4. Trying to open some .dmg files show error "image data corrupted"

b) OS X 10.8.4 (HFS+) ----> Pen-Drive (FAT32)

Copying with OS X 10.8.4. Trying to open some .dmg files show error "image data corrupted"

md5 checksums MATCH when:

a) OS X 10.8.4 (HFS+) ----> External HDD (NTFS)

Copying with BootCamp (Windows 8) accessing the OS X partition. .dmg files open correctly in OS X

b) OS X 10.8.4 (HFS+) ----> Pen-Drive (FAT32)

Copying with BootCamp (Windows 8) accessing the OS X partition. .dmg files open correctly in OS X

Hope you understand 🙂

I am having the same problem with Mountain Lion 10.8.4 and Paragon NTFS for Mac 10.0.2.

Only .dmg files seems corrupted when copied to an NTFS volume (I have not tested HFS+ or FAT32 volumes).

But when I mount a .dmg file downloaded from internet and create a new .dmg image by its contents through Disk Utility, I can move the newly created .dmg of an NTFS volume and move it back to system volume without any problem.

OK, I finally fixed it. There's a new version of Paragon NTFS:

http://ftp.paragon.eu.com/support/ntfs4mac/NTFSforMac(Paragon)[UFSD_HEAD]-580.dm g

Or, you could try this metod, which works great and doesn't need any extra software:

I think that the second option is better, because it's just Apple's NTFS implementation. It's a little tricky to make it work, but it works perfectly.
