I first noticed it when I tried to listen to music on my iPhone 5 using iTunes Match. I would tap on a song and nothing would happen so I tried to reset iTunes Match and it wouldn't let me turn it back on. I kept getting the "can't connect to iTunes Store" message popping up on my screen. I then tried to download apps via the App Store and I got the same message. I even reset my password to try and resolve the problem. No luck. I can't access iTunes Store/app store content on any of my devices (iPhone 5/ipad 2).
However, I logged on to both the iTunes Store and the App Store using my wife's apple ID on my iPhone and it worked just fine. At this point I'm frustrated as **** and will probably have to troubleshoot this with Apple care in the morning.
