Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Adobe flash player

For a while now, when Safari is using Adobe flash player within the browser, (playing videos, BBC iPlayer, Facebook games ect.) the CPU usage by flash player is between 80-90% and the fans run constantly.

Im running Mac OS X 10.8.4 on a mid 2010 MacBook pro

Safari verson 6.0.5

Do not know the Adobe flash player verson.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to stop Adobe from using so much CPU and if there is anyway to prevent the fans from running constantly and the laptop overheating?

Thanks

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

You should! It may be the route of the problem. Check the Check Flash Version website & do the necessary.

Adobe strongly recommends that you first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller:

http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html#main_1 0_4

Follow the instructions closely, such as quitting ALL applications first before installing.

Repair permissions and restart your computer after the installation is completed.

Still having problems after doing the above see KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411 Apple Portables: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
