Redirecting
I got told that my website uses duplicate contents because of a missing 302 redirection from mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com.
I have studied some sites explaining this issue and found that there are two methods: Using an .htaccess file with appropriate settings or writing it to the httpd.conf file of Apache.
If possible and because of security concerns, I want to manage this by directly editing the httpd.conf file. But unfortunately haven't found an explanation how to do this (I'm using Apache 1.3 on OS X Server 10.5.8). But can I then still use Server Admin or will my changes get overwritten ? Or is there even a way to do this in Server Admin directly ?
Can you direct me to a solution, please. Ideally providing a ready to use example, since this isn't where I'm really experienced in ?
Only http://mydomain.com should be redirected to http://www.mydomain.com not the https traffic (this must belong to mydomain.com for certificate issues.
Thank you,
Andreas.
