wifi problems and complete failure

Hi I've been having the following problem with my wifi.

1) Starting a few months ago Regardless of wifi network it will sometimes drop after about 10 minutes or sometimes will not connect at all

2) When I run diagnostics it will often say that I need to turn it out and gives me the option to but it still doesn't connect when I turn it on (restarting sometimes helps sometimes doesn't)

3) Starting today when I click on the wifi icon on the menu bar it says - Wifi: No hardware installed. I can connect via dsl.

I haven't in any way damaged it since I got it in Dec/Jan.

Thanks.

Howdy bluepez,

Great job testing on a different network, now we know its something on the computer that needs to be troubleshot.

I suggest resetting the SMC on the computer first, with this article:

Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

If that doesnt resolve the issue, I recommend the Symptom: My Mac does not connect to the Internet of the article named Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628?viewlocale=en_US.
