Hello pradip13,

I have a couple recommendations for you. First I recommend backing up your phone to iTunes or to iCloud.

iOS: How to back up and restore your content

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766

Then I would look at this article named iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3780.

Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.

  1. Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
  2. Restart your iPhone.
  3. Ensure that your software is up to date:
  4. Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
  5. If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
  6. Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
  7. Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  8. Restore the iPhone as new.
  9. Contact your carrier to:
    • Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
    • Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
    • Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.

If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, orcontact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.

Some of the steps you have already done but the rest is relevant.

All the very best,

Sterling

Hi Sterling,

I'm having the exact same problem with Pradipta above. I have tried resetting everything, including all settings (not just network setting), I even removed some of my recent free Apps (because I read somewhere some may contain bugs), basically did everything you asked, nada.

With the 3G, I am able to chat using Whatsapp with only one problem of downloading images/media sent via the app, but Safari, email, all social media and everything else is not working.

I, too, have tried contacting the carrier, but they only told me what you've told me to, so... still no go. I don't think it's a carrier issue, though, since two other people at home are doing fine with their 3G (and the same handset).

Suffice to say I am a bit frustrated. What's the point of having a smartphone if you can't use it on the go, right?

Any other suggestion(s) you can throw me? Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I made a new thread about this here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5283709

Is your problem exactly the same as mine? Because restoring the phone to factory setting and set it up as new (and not from backup) is the answer.

HOWEVER, if you have not done the steps I've done (read my original post on that link), maybe it's best to try them first before resorting to restoring your phone.

Good luck! 🙂
