2012 macbook pro top case replacement

I have the mid 2012 15" 2.7 i7 macbook pro. I had the unfortunate experience to have my friend throw my xbox controller at it, making a dent in the keyboard. Everything functions still. I would like to know which top cases are compatible for the mid 2012 model? I have read the early and late 2011 15" top cases work I would like to know if this is true and/or if anyone has used them. ifixit says their compatible. Thanks

Most users here see the one or two MacBooks they own and use for work every day. ifixit sees hundreds a week, and they are taking them apart every day. If ifixit says something fits and works, they know. Ask them to guarantee that it will fit and work in your Mac or your money back, and get on with it.

Yes, I am aware Ifix sells many products. Im asking if anyone knows personally, Im asking if the top cases for mid 2012 and 2011 are the same. So I can order a 2011 (since 2012 are harder to find)( and replace my top case. Im not sending it into ifixit.
