How do I change Preview default settings for scanning?

I like the Preview application on my mac, to scan documents. It is simple anc clean.

However the default setting is

Kind: text

resolution: 75 DPI

Format: TIFF

I need to change these settings every time to PDF, etc etc.

Is there a way to change these default settings for scanning in Preview, e.g. through the Terminal application? I checked things like TinkerTool but it doesnt have that option either

many thanks!

There doesn't appear to be a way. If you monitor the "More Like This" box (top right), other threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads. The question has been asked a lot with no solutions.

Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
