How can I "Always show the menu bar" on my MacBook Pro when operating on various applications?

Like the "Bookmark" bar and address bar, where you can set them to always show, I would like to set the "Menu" bar to do the same.

My menu bar always shows - for instance, here is a screenshot of the menubar as it is showing right now right above the Firefox browser window::

You don't show your OS version - which OS are you running? And are you running apps in full screen mode?
