i exchanged my verizon iphone 4s that had my data backed up on icloud.. after getting the new phone my apple id does not work and i create a new one. I cannont find the backup to restore my data from.. how can i find my data?

i exchanged my verizon iphone 4s (with another 4s) that had my data backed up on icloud. The phone number and vendor (verizon) stays the same. I forgot my applid and cannot login to find that backup. the recovery of userid/password gives me another applid and password and I do not see my backup under that id. How do I find that backup with previous appleid/password and restore data on exchanged phone which is also iphone 4s?
