Hi Fruhulda,

I installed Pages '09 on my old Mac OS X Version 10.4.11

Then transferred all documents to new OS X 10.8.2

It says:

'Pages cannot be opened because of a problem.

Check with the developer to make sure Pages works with this version of OSX. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

This report will be sent to Apple automatically'

OK, which version of Pages 09. You need to update it trough software update check to get a newer version that can work on Mountain Lion. It will move you to Mac AppStore and you can update Pages. Do you hae an Apple Id?

You never said how you install iWork from the beginning. Do you a a DVD with iWork?

How did you install Pages/iwork on the new computer?

Hi thanks for getting back to me.

Pages '09 version 4.0.3 (766)

I just went into software update check on my new computer and typed in the above - they said my search had no results.. and this is where I'm left.. Yes I have an apple id.

I don't think I ever installed iWork on my old computer (its 7 yrs old). I definitely dont have an dvd with iWork.

If it would save time.. what i'd like to do is delete the old file off my new computer (but I cant find that!)

Then I can buy just the new Pages, rather than it not allowing me to either use the old or update it.

Thanks for your time

Suzanna
