Q: apple tv

i have generation 1 apple tv. all of a sudden i can't view things from my ipad. anyone know why?

Apple TV, iOS 6.1.4

    You never have been able to view things from your iPad on the Apple TV 1.

     

    Could you confirm which equipment you have and describe your problem a little more.

    There were certain things like videos from crackle that I could watch by clicking the icon at the bottom of the screen. No more.

    Are you confirming that you don't have the Apple TV 1. If so:

     

    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

     

    1. Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2. Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3. Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4. Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5. Restart your router.
    6. Restart your mobile device.
