it is password protected and i want to reset the iphone
my daughter's phone is password protected. She wont give me the password. i just want to reset the whole phone and go from there.

Place the phone in recovery mode and restore it, as explained in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808. Be sure you want to do this as it will erase the phone and restore it to it's new, out-of-the-box condition unless it is subsequently restored to an existing backup.
