I have tha same problem, I just downloaded IOS7, the following day, I change my passcode, but I forgot it. I tried to enter my passcode, until it was disabled. I reset it tru the itunes. To make the story short, it requires my Apple ID, however, my apple id is not accepted, it says: " This Iphone is currently linked to an Apple ID (l*****@icloud.com). Sign in with the Apple ID that was used to set up this Iphone." My iphoe is mine, first hand owner. Never change my apple id. In fact, when I tried to change my password, the apple id that I used was the one given to me. Please help me.....

anyone downloaded a pirate IOS 7 got an activation lock .. and Apple's engineers should look at this issue as well and they should fix it .... and i guess when you downloaded the IOS 7 beta for free and your not a developer from a website it takes the Email and password from the IOS 7 account you downloaded so i guess you should contact the guy who uploaded the IOS 7 and tell him/her about this issue and he should go to his icloud.com and turn off find my iphone from his icloud .. i guess this is the issue .. APPLE'S ENGINEERS PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE

Lot of people sell/buy iphones through craigslist and/or ebay.

Why doesn't APPLE only do activation lock if a user goes to their icloud panel and reports their phone lost or stolen???

I bought my phone from someone who was leaving the country now I have no way of contacting them. So now my phone is useless??

Apple, please stop locking out phones which are not reported lost or stolen!!

It’s not clear how Apple has been able to remotely disable such devices as the activation process should ideally be required just after restoring the device. It is possible that iOS 7 beta that you have installed on your device has expired, so installing the latest release version of iOS 7.0.2 should fix this issue.

It works for me..

So what did I do?

I started my phone recovery mode.

Connect iPhone to your computer & open itunes (please make sure its latest version of itunes).

HOLD start+home button for 10 seconds after your phone reset itself just release power button and keep holding home button.

iTunes request to you restore your phone which is latest version of iOS 7.0.2.

Press update and relax on your sit.

When your phone restoredsuccessfully its gonna ask you to enter your Apple ID to activate your phone.

If your phone was in beta version of iOS 7 it will work! Otherwise you should contact the previous owner to unlink him/her device.

Thanks..
