Mounting Sparse Bundle across local network as Sharepoint

Hello,

I'm trying to overcome a problem of sharing a sparse bundle over a local network as a share point . I had managed this previously with other users just logging into a common machine as admin but now I have installed OSx server the share point simply doesn't show up over the network.

Equipment used:

MacPro 4,1 quad core

10.6.8 osx server unlimited clients

Sparse bundle created by admin with password security

Other mac users connecting to server by AFP

The idea is that files can be shared from the sparse bundle but were the server or the drive inside the machine to be stolen there would be more protection for not being able to view the files.

I am able to select the locally mounted sparse bundle and set it as a share point but unlike the other drives I share, the sparse bundle will not show up.

I can leave the sparse bundle closed and share it within a folder which allows the first network user to see it and open it locally for them but this prevents and subsequent users from being able to open the bundle over the network.

Any help or pointers with this would be greatly appreciated.
