    Welcome to the Apple Community.

If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:

    1. Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    2. Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    3. Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    4. Open iTunes.
    5. Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.

    Dear Winston,

    1/4 done.

After opening iTunes there is devices list at all.

    Best regards,

Do you mean "there is no devices list"

It should be in the top right corner of iTunes. If you are in the iTunes store, click the library button which will be in the top right corner instead.

That's because you have changed the default to show the sidebar.

I am having the same problem as Hans,bI have followed your instructions to the letter (and turned off the sidebar) but Apple TV will not show as a device in itunes or in finder. I suspect it is because the Apple TV hasn't actually completed it's boot process. When connected to the TV it shows a picture indicating that it need to be connected to itunes, but.....

Sometimes it can be a little difficult to advise multiple people in the same thread, they don't always have the same set of conditions and assumptions can be made which aren't correct. It's best to start a thread of your own.

However, have you made sure you have followed the instructions for your Apple TV, the procedure is different for each model.

I took mine to the apple store and they said that something was fried, so I took it back to the place I bought it and they replaced it. Apple would only replace it with a rebuilt one
