Q: My iPad can't see the photos on my SD Card. Why is that?

My camera is a new Samsung Galaxy camera. When I put the SD card from the camera into my iPad with the iPad Camera Connection Kit, my iPad says that there are no photos available to import. What could be the reason?

If SD card is formatted in exFat, the iPad can't read it. Make sure the card is formatted Fat32.

Hi Phil, thanks for your reply.

I don't know how I can change the format of the SD card into Fat32. Do I have to put the SD card back in the camera and than change the format? Or do I have to put the SD card in my MacBook and than change the format? I was hoping that the iPad Camera Connection kit was ready to use. If hope you can help me, otherwise I have so send the connection kit back to Apple. Thanks!

had the same issue with exFat on another device due to sd card capacity ,The only way to format as Fat32 I could find  was to use a PC App called Ease US ,it was free .

Once card formatted as Fat32 worked fine

You can do it from your computer. The Macbook should let you change its format, though it will delete everything from it.

The Camera may also have the option, but you should look at the camera's user guide for the steps needed to do it.
