Reformatting Ipad 2

Settings->General->Reset->Erase all Content and Settings.

This will put the iPad back to the way it was when you first took it out of the box. Your wife can then set it up as if it were new.

You might want to back it up to your Computer before resetting it, if you want to use that backup to setup a new iPad with all your content.
