Sound is all coming out in Mono

Hi Folks, Currently having a problem with my sound card (Using MacBook Pro), everything is coming out in Mono and I'm currently studying a music degree so its making my life very complicated, anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

System Preferences/Universal Access/Hearing.

Uncheck “Play stereo audio as mono”
