Adding sounds to ipad

I see you can change sounds for things like alerts, mail sent, etc. Is there a way to purchase additional sounds? I really would like to add different animal sounds for the alerts, especially cat sounds. But I can't figure out how to purchase new sounds or how to get them to appear in the sounds/ringtone list. Is is possible to add new tones to an ipad and how do you do it? Thanks!
