I'm using OS X 10.8.4 and got HP officejet 6600 and I can't print wireless

my system is uptodate and I downloaded the HP drivers. My printer is visible on system settings > printer setting but shows idle and when I try to print on word nothing happens. On the otherthe hand My windows computer work great with this wireless printer. HELP please. I called HP they told me I'm missing drivers and my Mac is not recognizing the HP and need further drivers and help. He was going to charge me 80 for the call and I just got this printer for 70. I told him that was a joke. lol help please

Hello MDtobe9, Thanks for the post.

With this one, I might suggest removing both instances of the OJ 6600 on your MAC, and then re-adding (system preferences/print and scan/select OJ6600(s)/remove by selecting minus sign at bottom of printers window/re-add by clicking plus sign at bottom of printers window) then try print again via wireless.

My problem is a similar one with different specs of the printer.


I am using a HP Photosmart 1315 printer with a wireless connection to my MacBook Pro. Up until yesterday, it has worked (for years). After installing Mountain Lion on the laptop...now I'm getting a status error in the queue, #255.


What? I've hunted around and see that I'm not the only one with this sort of issue, but have found no real solutions.
