I would check to make sure that the ports necessary to comunicate with the icloud servers are open in your fire wall.

Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for the iCloud Contacts. This also tests if the main ports 80 and 443 are accessible.

Thanks for the response. Still no luck. Even called Norton and removed the protection suite and the tried without it. No luck. Same error messages. Frustrating. Have seen on the Internet that MANY folks have the same issue but can find no help from apple. I love my Ipad and IPod but do not like apple . Support and help is non exist ant.

You are blocked by something. Something that is not apple. You are given correct advice, you just can't accept that software of your computer or network blocks you. You will find multiple things from multiple folks online with similar problems.

Every one of those will have the same answer. Something is blocking you and we do not know what that is. Support exists, just paid support, and I know Apple suppose to find your computer problem and fix it for you for free, but it does not. We are Apple users like you, you want to express your frustration - don't do it on us. Help yourself or pay for support. Or if your ipad/ipod are still within complimentary 90 days, use those. Good luck.

BTW - I have seen and have resolved it hundreds of times. Same way - get rid of what blocks you.

My apologies as I was not intending to take it out on you or other users. Sorry if it came across that way.

No problem, we all had and stil have our puzzles to deal with. Now lets try to do something about it. Did you run itunes diagnostics and can you post it here? Only network part of it is nessesary.

it may give us an idea what blocks itunes.
