It used to work fine with my old Imac .

    this is key!

it still works fine with your old mac if you turn it on

but appletv can only sync with 1! computer at the time

the appletv not being able to tell if your old mac was sold or broke or the likes

it's still waiting to sync with that mac

and will continue to wait until you go into the settings on the appletv and remove the binding to the old

mac and set it up to sync with the new computer

Thanks for your reply , Ive spent hours looking for info on Apple's Web Site,

When you say " remove the binding " do you you mean a re-set on the Apple Tv ?

    Thanks Again.

no in the settings of the appletv where one add shared libs and the likes there is a

link it's an icon which show a chain icon of sorts to the right of the icon (it's in the top)

your old computers name should be in text

if you reset it  then the binding would also be removed but it's easier just to remove that bit
