I'm looking for somewhere to download mp3 songs. It has to be free though. Just simple mp3 files. And it has to be safe. Safe and simple, like soundcloud. SoundCloud doesn't have huge selection though. Any ideas?

There is no legitimate site that is going to have a large selection of artist that you have heard of for free download.
itunes as well as amazon and google offer free singles from lesser known artist constantly.
your only real options for free music is local or internet radio.
pandora, spotify, rdio, etc.
Amazon? I've purchased some MP3 media from them...
