Q: my apple tv is black. all the cables are correct and the remote is paired. Is there a way to restart from my mac air?

my apple tv is black. all the connections have been reconnected.  my remote is paired correctly. Is there a way to reset apple tv thru my mac air 13?

Now i did change my apple id password earlier in the week. not sure if this is causing this. I last used apple tv on tues the 25.

    when you say "my apple tv is black" do you mean it's colour ?

    or do you mean "when i choose the hdmi port my appletv is connected to  as  input source on my tv all I get is a black screen even though i click the remote like possessed" ?

     

    anyway you can restore the firmware of the appletv by connected it by a cable which have a microUSB connector in 1 end and a normal usb connector in the other and then use itunes to restore it
