Click & Drag, not working

I cannot click and drag with my Trackpad, which means I have to manually hold down the delete button to erase any bulk info when in Word. I also can't highlight, click & drag multiple files into a folder. This is not good for work! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
