Quicktime player 7.6.6 & quicktime 7.7.1. Please, I'd love to know.

Im on snow leopard. In my browser addons it says I have quicktime plugin 7.6.6 and firefox is telling me I should update as this old plugin poses a security risk. The thing is... there is no update. The plugins page doesn't show one, system update doesn't show anything. I had to resort to wikipedia to find out that the latest 7 version of QT for SL is Quicktime player 7.6.6 (quicktime 7.7.1)... whatever that means. About Quicktime player 7 shows Quicktime player 7 version 7.6.6 and, below, quicktime version 7.6.6... am I missing something here? Anybody? Thanks alot guys.

Ask the Firefox developers. You're running the latest QT Player 7, vers 7.6.6, which is different than QT Player 10.0. The former has a Pro version and can do a bit more than the trimmed down Player 10 version.

There is no newer Mac version of QT 7. The only one that is was a special 7.7 version for OS X Leopard, 10.5.x. Other than that, any version of QT that has a version number of 7.7.x is for Windows.
