AppleTV will not set time and date

After updating the Software for my AppleTV, it will not set time and date. When I got to settings and re-enter my Apple ID and Pswd, it tells me one of them is incorrect - and they are NOT. I have tried restarting but the same situation occurred. When restarted, the screen only shows two options - COMPUTERS and SETTINGS.

INFO: AppleTV Model=MD199LL/A, Software 5.3

MACBK PRO: OSX 10.8.4

Any suggestions?

Usually this means it's not seeing the internet - if on wifi try re-entering the wi-fi credentials.
