How do I uninstall a program?

I had to download respondus lockdown browser for taking tests in class. I am a new mac user and now that I am done with the class I no longer want the program on my computer. How do you uninstall something from a mac? I know about clicking and holding on the "app" and hitting the x but this does not have one to do so with. Thank you for your help!
