My 4 gen iPod Touch is charging, but it doesn't say so and isn't being detected by iTunes or my computer?

So I've had the charging problem for a really long time now, and I haven't really minded it until now. The iPod still charges, but the battery icon doesn't light up or show the little lightning bolt anymore. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it, but now when I want to update it to IOS 6 I can't because neither my computer or iTunes detects it. It gets annoying because a lot of apps need at least IOS 5 to download. I am using Windows and iTunes 11.0.2.26.

Thanks.

iPod touch (4th generation), iOS 4.3.3

Hey bcollins1,

There are a few articles that go over some troubleshooting steps to resolve that issue. If you're seeing the device recognized in My Computer on your Windows machine, just not in iTunes, you'll want to follow this one:

iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

If your iPod touch isn't recognized in iTunes and also in My Computer, you'll want to check this one out:

iPod not recognized in 'My Computer' and in iTunes for Windows
