Jun 30, 2013 7:48 PM in response to terryshannonby Imp68,If it cannot recognize the song, it will not match it. It sounds like the damage is significant enough, that this is the case.

Jun 30, 2013 7:54 PM in response to Imp68by terryshannon,Thanks for the reply. In my opinion the damage is extremely minor. About 10 seconds of the song skips at around the 4:00 mark of a 4:33 length song. If that small amount renders the song unrecognizable I don't think it will repair anything at all.

Jun 30, 2013 9:30 PM in response to terryshannonby sberman,★HelpfulYou can get some additional information this way: See this article:
iTunes Store: Troubleshooting iTunes Match
Check the section entitled: "Some songs appear to be missing from iTunes Match", and then check the "Check iCloud status" section of that article. From there, you can see if the song was matched, or, if not, what its status is.

Jul 1, 2013 1:09 PM in response to sbermanby terryshannon,When I click
View > View Options
it produces this in a box:
The ability to select how to sort albums (Title, genre, etc)
A check box to Group Compilations
A slide scale to seelct artwork size
There is no place to enable icloud status??????
Check iCloud Status
Check to see the iCloud status of your songs. Choose View > View Options and enable "iCloud Status". iCloud status will help you to determine whether or not a song was purchased from the iTunes Store, matched, uploaded, or ineligible for upload. Items may not be eligible for upload if:
- Your computer is not authorized for playback for that item.

Jul 1, 2013 4:37 PM in response to sbermanby terryshannon,Thank you. I discovered that it's important to be working from the library's "songs" menu and I was in the "artists" menu. So I have a status now. It shows "uploaded", with no icloud icon indicating it can be downloaded from the cloud. I'm learning here and appreciate your help. What does an "uploaded" status mean?

Jul 1, 2013 5:15 PM in response to terryshannonby Imp68,It means it couldn't be matched and the song was uploaded as is. You don't see a cloud by it, since it is locally available on the computer. If you deleted it, you'd then see the cloud, but you'd only be playing/download the exact one you currently have.

Jul 1, 2013 5:52 PM in response to sbermanby terryshannon,I appreciate all of the information. Out of all of the music I copied from CDs there was only one damaged song. It looks like, delete and purchase is the solution on this one. Thanks again to all.
