I dont understand the installing of Firefox

I am going to download Firefox. question. I can download. but, how does this work so it will show in the launchpad as a app.

please help explain the download and getting items off my desktopafter download is complete.

You download Firefox; when the installer appears on the desktop, double click it to open, then drag the FF icon to the Applications folder (which is where all your apps should be installed). Once it is copied there, you can trash the installer.
