im using Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL and since i got my new desktop I'm not able to find any driver of application to us my scanner with the OS 10.8... any advice.

Have you tried Image Capture or Preview?
Hamrick Software says that VueScan supports the 1000XL, so you could give VueScan a try if Image Capture won't work:

Image Capture and Preview are both already installed on your computer. If you need assistance in using them, the Help included with those apps is a good place to start.

i tried both but infortunaly the scanner importing option is hidden, i think i need to install the driver for the scanner so it can shows, and the driver im finding is not supported with the OS 10.8 cause it says that PowerPC not supported.
Give VueScan a try, then.
