In the last 6-months or so this annoying behavior keeps happening:
Under my Gmail account in mail preferences, no matter how many times I check off the box that says "Store sent mail on the server," it never stays checked.
Consequently, my messages sent from Apple Mail aren't always being stored in my Gmail account because of this.
Anyone gotta fix for this? thx.

Have you told Apple Mail to use the "Sent Mail" folder for "Sent" mail. In other words did you do this by finding and selecting the "Sent Mail" folder in you mailbox list and then from the menu bar selecting Mailbox > Use This Mailbox For >Sent?
