safari does not load

First is it too late to purchase Applecare on this unit.

Second, my MacBookPro can get very very hot. the desksaver starts shimmering and dimming and then gets very bright and then gets dim again, finally it will shade down gray and tell me to hold down the start button for restart. I can hold down the button several times and it still wont restart. I tried cutting off all power to it to make it kinda reset.

Third, every user account other than the admin account does not have Safari. I checked to see if parental controls might solve the issue but it didnt. Please help. This MacBookPro cost me in the area of 2500.00 and I feel internal problems should not be occurring this way. If I thought I would have had these types of problems, I would have and could have bought 2 or 3 other type laptops. My baby is sick and I rely so much on her....please help!
