Q: when I go into I-cloud, I do not have an option to click "storage and backup" - why?

Open Settings > iCloud, scroll to the bottom and you will see Storage and Backup

This usually means your phone was provided by your employer, or you have added your employer's exchange email account on your phone, and your employer has installed a security profile preventing you from backing it up to iCloud.  If that's the case, you will probably see a setting called "Profile" in Settings>General near the bottom.

You would have to confirm this with your employer's IT department.
