This account may not be able to send or recieve emails - is this because I don't have an apple ID set up?

Trying to set up Exchange accont onmy boss's Ipad - but get the message

This account may not be able to send or recieve emails - is this because I don't have an apple ID set up?

At the tme I am simply turned on with Cellular data - no Wifi no connection to any PC etc.



I have used same settings info to set up others successfully - any suggestions?

iPad, iOS 6.1.4

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)


Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

As far as I know not having an Apple ID should have any effect on setting up an email account on the iPad. I assume that you have the settings incorrect even though you think otherwise. I don't think that not having a WiFi connection should matter either as long as you can connect to the Internet with the cellular connection.


Did you even try to send an email yet? i would delete the account and start over again.
