the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable

Hello, I am trying to update to iTunes 11.0.4 and keep having problems. I have tried the Microsoft Fix It and nothing is working. I get an error message that says "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" and shows the mapping to the iTunes64.msi file that I need. I can access the file and have permission to do so, but I keep getting this error. Then I get another message that says it can't uninstall the previous version. I have tried to uninstall and no luck. I am not sure what to do to update my iTunes or why this error is occuring. Please help!

I've reported the missing page to the powers that be, but in the meantime here is a link to an archived copy of the page: http://web.archive.org/web/20140723131402/http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3704

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

I'm having the same problem, and when I followed the link I came to a page that said :

We're sorry.

We can't find the article you're looking for.

Please return to the Apple Support homepage.

I've tried various other tricks including system restore and trying to install the same version as is currently stuck on my system. Please advise as I'm currently stuck between one phone that is broken beyond repair, and one that I can't use.

I had the same problem, but have followed your guide, and have now uninstalled iTunes 11.2.... working through QuickTime in the same manner. It takes about 45minutes - but does work! All the other related components worked fine with the normal uninstall... can hardly wait to see if iTunes installs correctly. Many thanks.
