Jul 1, 2013 11:01 PM in response to Ivan Hby Ocean20,Turn ASK to Join Networks off and know networks will be joined automatically

Jul 1, 2013 11:08 PM in response to Ocean20by Ivan H,I have access to 2NWiFi networks, I.e. Wireless-A and Wireless-B. My iPhone automatically joins Wireless-B instead of Wireless-A. I want to join Wireless-A in Room A and join Wireless-B in Room B automatically.

Jul 1, 2013 11:12 PM in response to Ivan Hby Ocean20,★HelpfulNot sure if this will work but choose to forget B and then join A and after that when B is available join that network and see if that makes a difference. Other than that I am not sure what to suggest That might allow you to join A in preference to B when both are available but if they are both available when you are in room B I cannot see how the phone can be made to join B instead of A. The phone is smart but has no way of knowing which room you are in.

Jul 2, 2013 12:38 AM in response to Ocean20by Ivan H,Smart!
In this way, the "natural" order changed! X fingers and thanks.

Jan 6, 2014 9:56 PM in response to Ivan Hby Landlover Chris,Did you ever resolve this? I have exactly the same issue where my iPad/Phone automatically seek out and connect to the worst signal for whatever room I am in. I had already tried forgetting networks and joining in different orders but makes no difference. Thanks

Jan 16, 2014 12:20 AM in response to Ivan Hby m0thr4,Same problem here on iOS7. I connect to free Wifi when I'm out and about, which is provided through my mobile and cable companies. When I'm at home, I only want to connect to my home Wifi (e.g. to connect to my Apple TV), but iOS7 always chooses a nearby free provider instead.
What's strange is that the networks it connects to inevitably have a weaker signal than my home network. I have tried naming my wifi SSID to something that starts with an alphanumerically lower character, but this hasn't helped.

Jan 28, 2014 6:39 PM in response to Ivan Hby Monsignor Paolo,★HelpfulHere is the workaround to avoid this problem.
I didn't test it because I haven't any iOS device, but you can check it and place your results here for us.

Feb 3, 2014 10:35 AM in response to Monsignor Paoloby m0thr4,This workaround simply creates configuration profiles for networks that you do not want to auto-join.
I do want to auto-join known networks but I want my home network to take priority, in fact I want the same behaviour I get on OS X. Unfortunately, this workaround does not give that.

Feb 3, 2014 10:36 AM in response to Ivan Hby m0thr4,For what it's worth, I have logged feedback, but this issue has been around since the first iPhone, so I'm not expecting any miracles.

Feb 4, 2014 3:36 PM in response to m0thr4by Ivan H,From iOS 7.x (where x is still unknown today), swipe up to open the Control Centre, tap the WiFi button, you can turn WiFi On or Off, and you can wish to see a list of available WiFi network to choose from and stay connected on your preferred WiFi network chosen manually as wish, one day.
Want it happened fast? "Like" this message, tap the button "This helped me", and send the link to www.apple.com/feedback.

Oct 10, 2014 4:28 PM in response to Ivan Hby Danny1991,This is not a solution to the specific problem but setting the same SSID and Password to the two networks will make your phone connect to the better one automatically. At least that works for me with quite a few Routers at home.

Feb 25, 2015 10:10 AM in response to Ivan Hby trentbrown,This is really a constant pain in the rear. Whenever I return to my downtown apartment, my phone connects to some "xfinitywifi" ssid instead of my own home network. I don't realize this until I try to use an app like Skype and get a crappy connection.
My poor parents, who are not tech savvy, have the same thing happen to them *all the time* and have to call me on the phone to talk them through switching their access point.
Apparently the "iPhone Configuration Utility" Mac utility used to let us change the priority order for access points on iOS devices. That app is now missing from where it used to be: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1465
Please, Apple. Give us a way to fix this vexing and time-wasting problem.
