my partners ipad charger has stopped working, its an ipad 4 and i purchased it direst from Apple just before christmas last year. i have looked at the charger and found its the charging lead that is faulty. looking at her sons charger (which is also for an ipad 4) the bit that slots into the phone is meant to be i would say gold plated, but on my partners one it has rubbed off. does this sound like the cause of the ipad not charging, and would it be covered under warranty?

    The included accessories (and any that were purchased at the same time) have the same warranty as the iPad.  1 year limited hardware warranty.
