I've a problem, when I capture a continuous video in FCP from my JVC GY HD110 (mini-DV), fcpx divide video into some clips (and I don't know why considering that there are not scene change).
I need to capture my scene in an only one clip.
I've followed the practice as per http://www.steadi-onfilms.com.au/vlog/jvc-hdv-video-into-final-cut-pro-6/ video but I've the same problem.
Can you help me to do that?

Are you using Capture now or log and capture ? are you sure this is one scene without a break ?

Ok , go to FCP user Preferences and change the "on timecode break" to "warn after capture", try again and see what happens.

the danger of doing capturing without "make new clip on timecode break" enabled is that you may not be able to recapture with anything approaching frame accuracy. Also, if you capture over a control track break (where there is no signal on the tape) the audio may be out of synch.
Are you capturing from the same camera you shot on? If not, try that. Also, using a head cleaning tape might help. There may also be a problem with the scratch disk. You should make sure there's plenty of empty space on it. A minimum of 10%. How are the external drive and the camera/deck connected to the computer? Both should be connected via firewire or e-sata, not usb (although some people say capturing to a usb drive is ok).
And is the drive a 7200 rpm disk? That can also be important.

I've 430GB free on my WD MY BOOK STUDIO FIREWIRE 800 - 1TB) but I've tryed also with IMAC HD to be sure.
this is the same configuration that I've always used with no problems.
Do you have any other programs running at the same time? If so, try quitting them. Do you have any antivirus program installed? This can cause problems as the program can be monitoring all disk write activity. If so, try disabling it. Do you have any system hacks or "enhancements" installed? If so, try disabling or uninstalling.
Have you tried resetting your fcp preferences? Use Preference Manager by Digital Rebellion (it's free)
