Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

How do I create a full screen pdf?

I have created some eGuides specifically for iPhone/iPod 5 using the specified screen dimensions 1136 x 640. However it seems iBook author retains a top bar to show signal strength, time and battery charge.

1. Can that be turned off to achieve full screen and if so how can it be done as part of opening the pdf?

2. What is the remaining screen size so I can build for that?

3. How do I take a screen snap so I can precisely measure what is being used?

4. Is there an alternate eReader that will let me use full screen, but retain full navigation and links in the pdfs?

I have created an interactive Travel Guide, as a prototype, in Pages and exported to pdf.

I am viewing that in iBooks on my iPod Touch till I work through the issues and resolve my best workflow and end result.

I have got well beyond my initial problems with the screen resolution, but will need to work out a more flexible solution. I am very satisfied with my current effort, which impresses the few people I have tested it on, but need to extend the interaction, form filling, multi-media and cross referencing.

Love to discuss this with you offline, as I'd certainly like to bounce things off you. 🙂
