My macbook won't boot, how can I erase the hard drive so I can sell it for parts?

I just purchased a new Macbook Air and am selling my old Macbook pro on ebay. I know how to erase the hard drive when the computer is able to boot, but the logic board is no longer working, so I can't even load the BIOS.

Can I take it to Apple store?

Thank you for the help.

Yes, you didn't read

My computer is not working, is my personal data lost?

You can take the drive out of the machine and use a SATA to USB adpater to grab your data to a new Mac (or PC.)

How do I securely delete data from the machine?

Shows you how to securely delete the data on the drive so you can put it back in when sold for parts.

It's too complicated to paste long complicated instructions here over and over, it's unfair to other responders. 🙂
