I have just received my iphone 5 & cannot get my contacts, photos & music transferred over. My old Iphone does not have the cloud. Surely I don't have to input all my numbers manually???? Also, why would I not have any service with my new nano sim? As far as I can tell, it's inserted correctly.

Back up your old iphone in itunes and restore from back up on the new iphone
iPhone 4 has iCloud.
The article tells me to go to settings & select iCloud but there is no icloud listing on the settings page
Scroll down to the other section titled: Using iTunes to transfer information from your current iOS device to a new one
And follow those directions.

Because you have not updated iOS on your iPhone in years.
Update your iPhone.
Connect it to iTunes, select the iPhone and click Update.
