Apple TV remote lost

This might help. This is a link to check your warranty. Maybe if you break your remote or any Apple products, you can see if you can get a new one for free.

The remote app works very well. Alternatively, you can purchase another Apple remote to replace the lost one.

Here is a link to the instructions, which may be impossible to follow without a remote in the first place; I didn't realize you'd never set it up before. Your only option, if you don't know someone who could loan you a remote temporarily, may be to purchase a replacement.

I just ran into the same problem. I lost my remote. Now when I install the Remote App it says "To Control Apple TV: Turn on Home Sharing from Computers on the main menu of Apple TV". So there you have it. A catch-22. Apple never imagined that a person might lose that tiny remote. Without the remote you can't program the Remote app to replace the hardware remote. Sigh.

How did you resolved the issue, I will have to buy a new remote? I can't find the remote and I can't use my laptop or my iPhone or my iPad, this is crazy, one little remote control and nothing that I have could make it work, the sad part is that I'm in an island, sight

Home sharing would need to be enabled and both on the same network for remote app to work, a physical remote would be needed to setup otherwise. The only alternative would be something like a logitech harmony remote.
