I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access iCloud. ICloud shows my old appleID but I can't change it. How do I get iCloud to work with my updated ID?

I Changed my ISP and therefore changed my email address, which caused me to change my appleID. I had no problems making the changes to my appleID but now I am having problems with iCloud. My old ID is still showing as my iCloud ID and I can not see where or how to change this. I keep getting an annoying pop up box to enter the password for my OLD appleID as well as error messages that I can't back up to iCloud.

CAn someone please tell me how I can fix this so my iCloud works.

THank you!!!!!

I'm having exactly the same problem with my iPhone 6 and iPad 4th generation. I've read from post 1.

None of the previous solutions or suggestions have worked unfortunately, as it wants the correct password which no longer works because the email address is not recognised by Apple. Tried new ID as suggested then went back but original account still there and no entry to, wouldn't let me start a new account in the same email address, (even though Apple don't recognise it) but it comes back with this address not available. What a complete **** up, it's about time Apple sorted this as its been going on for over four years and still no proper solution works for many, there needs to be an official working procedure that works easily, complete pot luck if anything works, do I still can't access my iCloud account or my iTunes account. It doesn't recognise my new password, or any new account I try to set up, if I try to delete my original account it says doesn't exist to delete, work that one out. I have all my backups and photos and don't want to loose them to.

This is worse than Windows use to be, now they seem to run fine, but since Steve Jobs died Apple have gone completely down the Pan!

How are the death of Steve Jobs, your ability to recall your password that you set up and are totally responsible for, and have now forgotten related?

Have you called Apple Support? If you can identify the Apple ID you can't recall the password for, and can pass your security questions, Apple may be able to send you a password reset request to an alternate email address. This will allow you to, at the very least, regain control over your Apple ID and change the email address associated with it.

I Haven't forgotten any passwords or my email addresses, the email address shown under iCloud doesn't respond to the correct password as the email account is no longer recognised by Apple, I have not been able to remove it following instructions from Apple support, who incidentally say they are receiving loads of help calls everyday over this problem, which they hope to have a fix for in the next update. I have tried opening a new account and following that route with no joy, I am running at present with a completely new name/email address to continue use, my iPad is going to Apple service next week for them to try and sort.

The original reason for having to change my email addresses was the ISP will no longer let you use them after you don't use their services any more. Some like BT have just increased their prices by over 150% to those that kept their email addresses by making a monthly payment, this has caused hu dreads of people to terminate the arrangement to source a new "permanent" facility.

You did not answer my question. Is the email address that is signed on to iCloud the same Apple account that your current Apple ID is using (i.e., did you change your Apple account ID to your current email address from the email address that is signed into iCloud? If so, use your current Apple ID password to sign it out.

If the email account that is signed on to iCloud is a separate Apple ID, then you will have to change the password to that Apple ID account by going to Apple - My Apple ID to change it.

Sorry for delay, have to get on screen inbetween jobs (working).

No it isn't the same address currently in use, as I have now started a new account until I take it into Apple store for engineers to sort.

My account doesn't end in any of the eexamples you put up mine ends .co.uk.

The Apple store staff did try to do what normally works to sort this out, without any joy unfortunately.

Many thanks.

I found out one thing ,: I had problem with and delete iCloud account on my iPhone ,
it came up that my appel id was not correct , I use my email address as appel id , so I changed my code on email address, after I did it so I tried again to log in to appel id and it seemed excellent.
I advise you to do so maybe it works out with you too
