i have an ipad 3 and my friend who lives in dubai has an iphone. i have her number in dubai, how do i send an imessage? besides her local number what other digits or symbols do I have to add?

send it to her apple-id email and it'll go thru as imessage.
she only uses phone number for imessage no email
then tell her to put the email too in the imessage settings. whats the problem?
Well then you need do the following (international dial out code for the country you are in) (971)(4) (friend's phone number) Drop any leading zeros in the the phone number.
